Nam June Paik often inserted eyes, nose, and mouth into a television drawing, and portrayed two people facing each other by drawing lines similar to the number ‘3’ or the alphabet ‘E’ to represent two-way communication. In this drawing, Paik added dotted lines and arrows that may refer to their flow of emotion. One may interpret this as Paik’s intention to imply that television broadcasting can mediate human communication.
