In , we pore over Nam June Paik’s papers, the beginning of the exhibition planning for THE CONSULTANT: PAIK’S PAPERS 1968-1979, and transcribe them, examining Paik’s ideas about media and detailed proposals contained in his writings. In this workshop, you will spend time reading Paik’s report with the curator of the exhibition, and transcribe Paik’s papers using typewriters with the typewriter collector Rettrofit, just like Paik wrote papers with a typewriter. We hope you to meet Nam June Paik, a media consultant, at this typing workshop where you will read and transcribe Paik’s papers.

Lecturer
Rettrofit collects and researches typewriters. He mainly uses the Korean 4-set typewriter and is very interested in the various input methods of the 2-set, 3-set, and 5-set Hangul keyboards and old media. He is active as an alternate character named ‘Retrofit,’ by transforming the English word ‘Retrofit’ which means ‘to remodel and use an old type machine.’
※ Participants who are new to the typewriter can also register. Participants can select to use Korean or English typewriters online.
