Untitled
Untitled portrays a television, one of Nam June Paik’s favorite motifs; the drawing gives a feeling of “painting with one stroke of a brush.” Inferring from the ink’s light and shade, Paik may have drawn two lines of the antenna first, then the horizontal lines for scanning lines, followed by the left side and the right side of the television consecutively. Only five strokes made the form of a television set with an antenna. This is the result of concentrated brushstroke adorned with contingency.
