Untitled
In this drawing of a female body, facial features are left out; instead, the middle part formed by the chest, navel, and genitals appear to be the eyes, nose, and mouth. Nam June Paik often drew female nudes with humor, to render the furtive subject in a vivacious way. Over the waves of the sea where a boat is afloat at the bottom of the drawing reads “Hamptons.” The Hamptons is the seaside on eastern Long Island’s South Fork, a popular summer resort area for wealthy New Yorkers.
